Legitimization of dance-movement therapy as a part of psychosocial education of younger school-age children
PAJTLOVÁ, Caroline
The aim of the bachelor research is to verify the effectiveness of selected relaxation methods on the psychosocial environment in children of younger school age and based on these findings to further discuss the legitimacy of selected relaxation methods in the dance-movement course for children of younger school age. The theoretical part presents findings from developmental psychology in the field of mental and emotional development of children. Furthermore, the theoretical part maps the current knowledge about dance-movement education and defines individual selected relaxation methods, which were implemented in a research survey with children of younger school age. The empirical part presents the results of my research using a quantitative two-phase questionnaire survey and the technique of qualitative participatory observation of children of younger school age in three areas of interest: dance, movement and gymnastics.
Training and transfer effects of executive functions to regulation of emotions
Vlachynská, Kateřina ; Kulišťák, Petr (advisor) ; Kebza, Vladimír (referee)
This thesis is focused on the effects of computerized executive functions training on emotion regulation and affective functioning. The theoretical part summarizes cognition-emotion integration and is based on cognitive neuroscience models suggesting that there are bidirectional links between cortical executive functions centers and cortical centers that regulate emotions. Based on process model of emotion regulation (Gross, 1998) it's supposed that it is possible to make interventions of emotion dysregulation also through cognitive, antecedent-focused strategies. These assumptions are linked with computerized executive functions training. Such training might have positive consequences for emotion regulation and emotion functioning, as it generate frontal activation (Klinberg et al., 2005). The study measures the potential effect of executive functions training on regulation of negative emotions. The main intervention is a personalized, computer-based cognitive training program BrainTwister. This program is widely used for clinical and diagnostics praxis and rehabilitation. To ascertain the everyday ecological validity of the cognitive training intervention and the emotion regulatory and affective consequences, emotion regulatory experiment (IAPS) together with mood and emotion regulation...
Emotionality of children who experienced domestic violence in their families
Benešová, Klára ; Šulová, Lenka (advisor) ; Šírová, Eva (referee)
This thesis studies a specific population of children exposed to domestic violence. The theoretical part is focused on the impacts of domestic violence on emotionality and emotional development of children. It also deals with the problematic aspects of children's emotionality that are believed to be disturbed by this traumatizing experience. These particular areas were chosen based on present studies focused on the children exposed to domestic violence. The empirical part of the study was developed in cooperation with the Locika centre. It studies chosen aspects of children's emotionality in a quantitative and qualitative way. Particularly, it investigates the ability to distinguish emotions and the ability of emotion regulation within the overall cognitive development.

The theoretical part is devoted to topics like attachment, family and raising child. Furthermore, the author focuses on the foster care and the description of behaviour of foster children. In the empirical part was analyzed semi-structured interview with eight mothers. There were four foster mothers and four mothers with their biological children. In this thesis was examined differences between these two groups of mothers in using coping strategies. Significant differences weren't found in strategies used by mothers between chosen groups. Self-report of anger in repressors
HYNEK, Jan
The thesis is focused on repressive coping style and self-reports of the anger. In the theoretical part are elaborated chapters concerning the definition of emotion, emotion regulation, coping and repressive coping style. The Repressors are characterized by unconscious denial of their own anxiety and self-image distortion within the low susceptibility to negative emotions. The research study focuses on the expression of anger by repressors and their comparison with other groups. Respondents (n=122) were divided into four groups using conventional questionnaires (STAI, MCSD): repressors (n=26), high-anxious (n=16), defensive high-anxious (n=47) and low-anxious (n=33). The aim of the study was find out differences in the expression of anger and trait anger. The hypotheses were partly supported, as the results in the expression of anger and trait anger pointed to differences between repressors and low-anxious and partly supported among other groups. The present study shows that repressors distort even other socially censored emotions, in this case anger.
